A Soft Start
The last several months have held much activity, however not for Oxalis Arts, but rather in working on our house. I’ve been landscaping like a crazy-woman, trying to get the major shrubbery in & established before frost. The house finally got painted in August (due to waiting for the biblical rains to end) and since then it’s been nearly non-stop gardening action! Prior to the exterior work, I have been remodeling the inside, in particular the kitchen, bath, and my studio.
Speaking of the Oxalis Studio… I am very excited to be setting it up formally, (rather than it existing as a room to stash all my supplies). Although it is small, it is a lovely space to work in. The light is great, I have a wonderful view of the bird feeders and my two greyhounds, Tristan & Simon, are just beyond the french doors to the dining room. All the comforts of the house are near and yet, it’s possible to close those doors and focus on my work. And you never know – while I typically go to clients, on occasion someone might have an itch to get out of the office and come have some tea. I find it is very liberating & inspiring to the creative process if I can get clients out of their usual environment.
Since we live on a main thoroughfare, the exposure surely can’t hurt either.
I hope to put up some pics soon!
